Supervision for qualified Counsellors

Supervision

I am a fully qualified Clinical Counselling Supervisor. I offer supervision consultation to qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists, online in Surrey and London, nationwide and international.

I feel passionate about the benefits of high quality supervision in practice. I have an integrative approach to Supervision which, in addition to the reflective, psychological work which is client-focused, includes safeguarding, caseload management, looking at ethical issues and encouraging self reflection. Development of the reflective practitioner acts as a means to reflexivity and professional and personal development, of the therapist as an individual, as a therapist, and the development of your counselling and/or supervision practice. I provide a collaborative, developmental space within which challenging, intriguing and interesting issues arising from practice can be openly and creatively explored.

With extensive counselling and supervising experience working across a wide range of clinical contexts, I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists who work with adult clients. This includes supervision for newly qualified, established and very experienced practitioners. I also offer facilitative supervision and consultative support to those who supervise or manage the work of other helping professionals.

My core therapeutic model is the Five Relational Model (Clarkson). This provides a framework for integration of different therapeutic modalities, including Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, TA, Transpersonal, CBT and creative therapies. The therapeutic relationship comes through in the supervisory relationship in that the work is relational, held within a dynamic that is mutually respectful, empathic and conducive to the way you work.

I offer a collaborative, supportive and reflective supervisory space to ensure that supervision is dynamic, appropriately challenging, supportive and motivating, both for yourself, your clients and your counselling practice. My approach is to provide you with a supportive, safe and guiding relationship whilst offering psycho-education, opportunities for learning and development and the monitoring of clinical practice.

Supervision is a two-way process of shared responsibilities between supervisee and supervisor. Our working relationship contains the process of monitoring and safeguarding the interests of clients and to monitor and promote the well-being of the counsellor including your continued development and learning as a therapist.

I can help you develop your professional voice as a practitioner, and define a rationale to help develop that voice which is then heard in your counselling work. I would love to hear from you, to hear about your work, the clients you support and to discuss how I may meet your supervisory needs.

I adhere to BACP supervision standards and as a registered BACP Senior Accredited practitioner I observe the BACP Ethical Framework. My work is supported in supervision and I hold full Professional Liability Insurance.

In addition to my supervision work with experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, I have supervised and developed the practice of counsellors as they enter private practice.

Accreditation

I have experience supporting Supervisees successfully through the Accreditation process. I work with current BACP Accreditation guidelines and assessment criteria. Please contact me to discuss how I can support you.

Supervision Fees

The fee for counselling supervision is :

  • £95 per 60-minute session
  • £120 per 90-minute session.

Please contact me to discuss your supervision requirements.

My location

We can meet for sessions online or by telephone. Numerous studies and NHS research has found online counselling and remote therapy to be just as effective as visiting a counsellor or therapist face to face. Some clients who can choose how to meet prefer online counselling because they find it gives them more flexibility and comfort.
